Gregory Byers serves as the Founder & Program Leader/Consultant at GB Perspectives. He leverages an enterprise perspective to work with leaders across the Pharmaceutical, Device and Medical segments to define strategies and identify opportunities for growth in the evolving healthcare landscape. His team also supports the execution of initiatives to support strategy. Area of focus range from core strategies to developing new business areas to analyzing disruptive challenges and opportunities, and bring meaningful impact.
Byers came to GB Perspectives from Shire International where he was the Region Head of Commercial Operations, Europe and member of the European Leadership Team. In this role, he led many aspects of operations across the region. Byers joined Baxalta as the Lead, Corporate Strategy where he led company-wide strategy, including portfolio strategy, disease area strategy and corporate planning processes including strategic planning. During this time he established the Corporate Strategy function. He also drove cross-functional improvements at crucial interfaces in Finance, HR, IT, R&D, Sales & Marketing and Regulatory. Before joining Baxalta, Byers was a Strategy Director in the Bioscience Division at Baxter where he served the executive team on many strategic initiatives, as well as developed innovative approaches to complex issues, across areas in commercial, business development, R&D, and operations. His body of work @ Baxter on diversity and inclusion globally was transformational driving new leadership behavior with C-suite, providing equitable policies and benefits and creating a positive cultural environment. These efforts led to external recognition by both Wall Street placing Baxter in a new peer group as a diverse employer and with the HRC recognizing the progress with a leap in the CEI* in a single year. Byers started his career in finance and management, with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon, an MBA from Southern Oregon University, and strategy & operations, including behavioral change, experience from PwC in Japan. *Corporate Equality Index |
